There is often a blackbird in our tree, a beech, which overlooks The Arno rose garden in Oxton. One snowy winter, inspired by “Thirteen Ways of looking at a Blackbird” by Wallace Stevens, I made a scraper board drawing [ hand coloured] inspired by the last verse of the poem.
” It was evening all afternoon. / It was snowing / And it was going to snow. / The blackbird sat in the cedar – limbs. ”
